Welcome
My name is Lynn Marie Newcomb Edwards, and I am the unofficial historian on my paternal branch of the Newcomb Family. Since early childhood, I have been fascinated by genealogy and Early American history. I welcome you to join me in my journey of discovery and learning as I travel near and far to uncover details of my ancestor’s lives.
The Newcomb Family
The documented history of my branch of the Newcomb Family begins with Lt. Andrew Newcomb, my 9th great grandfather. He was born around 1640 and lived in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. His former homestead is now the site of the Great Cove Boat Club and can be seen when traveling I-95 between New Hampshire and Maine.
Other Notable Ancestors
Lt. Andrew Newcomb’s grandson, Hezekiah Newcomb, married Mayflower descendant, Jerusha Bradford in 1716. Her grandfather, (my 9th great grandfather) was William Bradford, Governor of Plymouth Colony and organizer of the first Thanksgiving.
My grandfather, Clyde John Newcomb was a professional musician who worked with many jazz and music legends like Billie Holiday, Gene Krupa, and Frank Sinatra.
